Silcoates welcomes Dr Francis Jackson, a fabulously talented organ recitalist and composer whose remarkable career includes a 79-year-long association with York Minster where he was a chorister from 1929 to 1933 and an organist from 1946 to 1982.
The doyen of British organists, Dr Jackson returns to Silcoates School to play where he has in fact already performed - 45 years ago!
Dr Jackson is an accomplished composer of both church music and orchestral works and was awarded CBE in the Queen’s Honours List 2007 for services to music.
The evening will be both moving and magical. Dr Jackson’s playing has been described as having “dignity and grace as well as fervour and excitement.”
Please book early to avoid disappointment.
